Hoo boy. Pilates does not agree with me!
My core and back hurt so much, I was down for the next couple days. Even standing for more than 20 minutes would hurt. It was not good.
Plus, the format is not great. The next workout scheduled included 40 exercises. That is intimidating in and of itself, but with the app’s format you watch a 10 second video to figure out what you’re doing, do the exercise, then spend a few seconds recording sets and reps in the app before doing it again. 40 times. Plus however many sets you do.
Even in the short 16-exercise one I did, I felt like I spent so much time fiddling with my phone that it was annoying.
So I didn’t do the big one.
Instead, I did the arm workout Jenn recommended from the program.
And it was totally worth it! 9 exercises in an understandable flow. I only had to watch the videos once each, and I went through each exercise in the series, then repeated the whole series 2 more times. It was nice, and I felt it in my arms. I used my 8 lb hand weights (they recommended 1-2 lb weights) and I felt like I got a very nice arm day. Not a heavy lifting day, but it still felt good.
I think I’ll keep the arm workout but ditch the rest of the gym’s pilates program on the app.
