Jenn convinced me to try some of the things the gym has on offer while it’s closed. I miss the gym.
So I signed up for a 30 day trainer program called Pilates Core Program. It’s pilates for beginners and I think Jenn is a few days ahead of me on the same program.
Today was my first day and the program had me doing a series called Core Pilates Classical Mat.
It’s interesting. They give you a series of moves and a recommended number of reps per set, then you track how many reps (or how much time you hold) for each set, and how many sets you do. There doesn’t seem to be a recommended number of sets or times. The tracking was confusing at first, but each move has a short video showing how to do it. I wish there was an audio description, too, but mostly it was understandable.
I ended up doing 1-2 sets of the recommended number of reps for all 16 movements and it took me about 35 minutes. Since the series of workouts repeats each week for 4 weeks, I’d like to work my number of sets up each week from 1 to 3 for each movement. We’ll see how that goes.
I’m looking forward to Thursday’s arm workout. I miss lifting heavy things.
